Harry N. Abrams Inc. New York, 1979, Hardcover, suspected 2nd printing but difficult to tell. Brilliant book, illustrated throughout by Brian Froud & Alan Lee, edited and designed by David Larkin. Book is Near Fine, but with a faint, small, touch of soiling on the bottom board edges, a small mark on the ffep and some marker lines under the inside jacket flap that cross out a previous owner's name; binding is tight, internally very clean and otherwise unmarked. Dust jacket is price clipped and the glassene covering it has some scrunching - not sure how to describe it - just some tiny veins of plastic that's see though; no other wear on the jacket - listed as Very Good plus. A nice copy overall of a book becoming more and more scarce.

Alan Lee is an Academy Award–winning movie conceptual designer and illustrator. He is well known for his illustration of Tolkien’s Middle Earth books and The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Jane Yolen has written more than 200 books for children and adults, including the acclaimed The Devil’s Arithmetic.
