The Failure Pattern

The first AI system failed quietly.

A medical diagnostic platform began making impossible predictions.
Healthy patients were flagged as terminal.
Confirmed cancer cases vanished from risk models entirely.

At first, VitaGenix blamed corrupted data.

Then Dr. Rowan Halberg found the pattern.

Hidden deep inside the neural-network architecture was a mathematical signature—small enough to avoid detection, precise enough to destabilize the system from within.

Someone hadn’t hacked the model.

They had taught it to fail.

As Rowan traces the sabotage across shipping networks, financial systems, and infrastructure AI around the world, a terrifying possibility emerges:

This wasn’t an isolated attack.

It was a demonstration.

Now Rowan is hunting an invisible architect who understands machine learning better than the companies deploying it—and who may already be preparing the next system to collapse.

Because in a world run by prediction engines, the most dangerous vulnerability isn’t the code.

It’s the people who trust it.

The Failure Pattern is a fast-moving techno-thriller about artificial intelligence, infrastructure fragility, and the hidden risks buried inside systems nobody fully understands.
