About the Author
Fr. John Hardon (1914–2000) received his master’s degree from Loyola University in 1941 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1947. He received his Doctorate in Sacred Theology (S.T.D.) from the Gregorian University in 1951, and became a Jesuit in 1953. A college professor, confessor, and spiritual director, he was the author of many books.
