Faith and Reason

What is the fruit of a searching dialogue between faith and reason? This book collects theological and philosophical perspectives on the richness of the faith-reason dialogue, including examples from literature, continental and analytic philosophy, worship and liturgy, and radical approaches to issues of racism and prejudice. The authors strongly resist the temptations to either disregard the faith-reason dialogue or take it for granted. Through their explorations and reflections they open up new vistas and horizons on a topic more necessary than ever.

Nigel Zimmermann is an Adjunct Lecturer with the Institute for Ethics & Society at the University of Notre Dame Australia and Senior Fellow with the PM Glynn Institute, Australian Catholic University (ACU). He co-edited Faith and Reason: Vistas and Horizonswith Sandra Lynch (Wipf & Stock, 2021), and is the editor of Streams of Light: Easter Messages from Australian Bishops during Lockdown 2020 (St Pauls, 2021) and The Great Grace: Receiving Vatican II Today (Bloomsbury, 2015). Nigel is author of Levinas and Theology (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Facing the Other: John Paul II, Levinas, and the Body(Cascade, 2015).

Sandra Lynch was the inaugural Director of the Institute for Ethics and Society at the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA, Sydney). Sandra is Adjunct Professor in Moral Philosophy in the School of Philosophy & Theology at UNDA as well as Adjunct Professor in the IMPACCT Research Centre, Faculty of Health, University of Technology Sydney.
