Faith that Transcends: A Study Guide to Hebrews

What does Jesus have to do with our rapidly changing, globally-minded, post-religious world? Perhaps you've asked yourself that question. Perhaps you've notice that the Christianity taught in most churches has more to do with a white-European-modern system of doctrine and ritual than with the teaching of the 1st century man from Nazareth. This can be confusing, and often discouraging. Hebrews can help. In the 1st century, a group of Jewish people adopted the idea that the rabbi Jesus was, indeed, their long-awaited Messiah. However, His teaching turned their worldview upside down and left them confused, discouraged, and persecuted. The writer of Hebrews, with the heart of a shepherd, lovingly helps them rethink some of their old-school doctrines and opens up a whole new world of possibilities. We need that guidance today. In this 13-lesson study of Hebrews you will glean the principles from their journey, and learn how to apply them today. Perhaps it is time to turn from a faith that clings to tired traditions and find a Faith that Transcends.
