Charles K. Spetz was born in Detroit and raised in southwestern Ohio. He studied English and political science at Kent State University before taking on the life of a touring rock musician.
Since then, Spetz has spent time operating a ski racing business in Colorado, working on yachts off the coast of Mexico, and establishing a number of small companies in the United States. Spetz currently resides in the Pacific Northwest.
