Early novel by Bulwer-Lytton, with this and his work Pelham earning him acclaim for his wit. GOOD condition, lacking covers and spine. Heavy browning to the exposed endpapers. First and last few pages beginning to separate along the hinges, but still intact. Minor to moderate scattered foxing throughout. Owner's signature in ink across the top of the title page.
