Shortlisted for Annie McHale Debut Novel of the Year Award
In There Was A Crooked Man, Cat Hogan has assembled an unsettling cast of vivid characters who move like squatters into your cranium and refuse to leave. Especially the losers and the lost, and the villains who keep you looking over both shoulders long after you ve put the book down. Prepare to be thrilled. JACKIE HAYDEN - Hot Press writer and best selling author.
'A coruscating journey from the dark alleys of Marrakech, through Berlin and back to where it all began. Hogan writes vividly and unflinchingly.Scott Carluccio Randall is an anti-hero to reckon with.' - AIDAN GILLEN - Game of Thrones.
A confident debut from a striking new Irish author. -Sunday Independent
A full on, multi plotted, page turning thriller. - Irish Examiner
Hogan writes with style, and in Scott she has produced a complex monster who will stay in the mind. As for the ending, it will leave you reeling. -Books Ireland Magazine
A seething cauldron of jealousy, obsession, addiction, betrayal and murder. - The Guardian
"In Cat Hogan, you're looking at one of the future stars of Irish crime writing. Get in on the ground floor." - Rick O Shea - RTE
Cat Hogan masterfully captures the essence of what it feels like to live and work in a small village. Her characters are known to us all and I d quite like to join them for a pint. -Liz Nugent
Hogan is a thrilling new voice in Irish fiction- the genres next shooting star. A stunning debut. -Eoin Colfer
Highly addictive and a must read for all fans of psychological thrillers -Celeste Loves Books
They All Fall Down is a high-quality debut, told in an almost storyteller manner as though the author is recounting the story to the reader in person. -Swirl and Thread
This is a fantastic character driven psychological thriller with a compelling build up to a very exciting climax. - Damp Pebbles Book Review
They All Fall Down is a brilliantly woven story and for a debut- absolutely faultless. A big and well deserved 5 stars- Read it! - Melanie Bloomfield- The Bookshop Café
Hogan certainly knows how to write an evil character- Scott s ability to switch on and off the charm jumps from the pages. I love the language quirks coming through that really transport you to Ireland. - Have Books Will Read- Clair s book blog
I was expecting it to be a gentle tale of country folk, maybe with a bit of sea going and the odd bit of wisdom from the elders- we enter a whole different world of evil, secrets, betrayal, violence, addiction and obsession. A tremendous page turner. - BeingAnne.com
Hogan has created an eclectic mix of characters- self-centred, flawed and destructive. The characters flaws make this novel all the more fascinating.

A truly brilliant debut novel.- Beccas Books
Loved it and can't wait for Cat's next book! There were moments I held my breath, moments when I knew what would happen and yet my knuckles turned white. Moments when Cat Hogan completely pulled the rug from under me. Good Reads Reviewer
They All Fall Down is a striking, confident start by the latest in a line of Irish female thriller writers, and the Wexford setting is beautifully realised - Sunday Independent
Could not put this book down once started. Kept me intrigued and in suspense until the last chapter - Amazon Reviewer
I didn't like this, I LOVED it. I would definitely recommend this book. I had it read in just a few days as I couldn't put it down and there were parts of the story I was shouting at the characters in my head to not do this and don't do that.
