He was long known for his poetry and dramatic writings. This dramatic poem describes the siege of 70AD and also depicts the conflict between" the Jewish conservatism and new truth" (DNB). Maroon straight-grained morocco gilt by Hayday for Hatchards & Son, all edges gilt. Joints and extremities rubbed, head of spine chipped and stained, some spotting and marginal staining, else very good with the bookplate of William Montagu Baillie. Seller Inventory # 30794
