A Fair and fragile copy of a title which ".may prove useful:--as a salutary and timely warning to young women in the same situation in life, in which the ill fated girl was placed, who is the subject of this narrative." Worn tan boards have a cloth spine. Boards have a large dark spot and chipping. Inside front cover is previous seller's notes in pencil. Strings that held the front cover to the rest of the volume have been broken all save one. Authors name written in pencil on title page. Staining throughout volume. 8 Chapters plus a Preface, an Appendix and Observations. Illustration of "A View of Mr. Durfee's Farm-House and Stack-Yard" 198 pages. Rear flyleaf is three quarters separated. Imprint of numbers on rear flyleaf. Summary:"An account of the circumstances leading to the trial of the Rev. Ephraim K. Avery for the murder of Sarah M. Cornell in Fall River in December 1832".
