Falling Asleep: A DreadLore Tale

"Falling Asleep: A DreadLore Tale" is an illustrated short story that explores heartbreak, memory, and self-discovery against a fantastical backdrop.

Daria is a young woman with a sharp mind but little ambition, living in The Bonestone City—a sprawling megacity of floating “halves” engineered through forgotten alchemical and magickal means. One day, she stumbles upon a relic: a recording device containing tapes made by her former lover. Listening to these recordings stirs memories and emotions she thought were long buried, leaving her restless and unable to find peace.

Set in the rich and immersive world of Craster, where swords clash with sorcery and the pseudo-science of Theurgy shapes lives, "Falling Asleep" delves into the deeply personal struggles we all face when the past refuses to stay silent. As Daria navigates the weight of her memories, she begins to grapple with what it means to truly move forward.

For readers who enjoy tales of quiet resilience amidst worlds of epic wonder, "Falling Asleep" offers a poignant and relatable journey into the heart of human emotion.
