Octavo, black boards (hardcover), gilt letters, 255 pp. Near-Fine, with bookplate, in a Very Good, mylar protected dust jacket with hairline tear and lightly rubbed edges. From dust jacket : This is the story of the opposite numbers to the men who fought the Battle of Britain -- the members of a German Fighter Command Group when the Luftwaffe was fighting in defence of its homeland with the war irretrievably lost. Over-taxed, outnumbered, under-equipped, they cannot yet realise that all the victories they have won no longer have any meaning, that the end is certain. The daily round goes on as before-- battles over land and sea, rest, play, postings, death -- and there is no reason to face the truth which the battered Squadron leader at length grimly announces. Aviation, Military HIstory, World War II, WWII, World War 2. zslic.
