The Fallon Legacy

Writing as Reagan O'Neal, an author pens a long-awaited conclusion to his Fallon trilogy, in which James Fallon heeds the call of a wild land called Texas, where the land is harsh and threats from Mexico City cannot go unheeded.

In the final volume of the Fallon series, which was written under the pseudonym Reagan O'Neal, Jordan ties up several plot strands from Fallon Blood (1995) and Fallon Pride (1996), yet still leaves threads dangling. Covering the years 1822 to the eve of the fight for Texas, Jordan twists the lives of Robert Fallon and the son he never knew, James, so that even though they never meet in person, they intersect through old friends and enemies. Robert contends with an unseen but not unfamiliar enemy in Charleston, and James faces trouble in Texas as he receives a land grant from Mexico, is drawn into the difficulties other American settlers have with the Mexican authorities, and collides with people who hate him just because of his name. Revenge, jealousy, lust, and hatred surround the Fallons to the very end as Jordan, who is actually best known for his Wheel of Time fantasy series, displays his flair for convoluted plots and attention to detail.
