About the Author: Kenneth Mallory, an award-winning children's book author, is the head of the publishing department at the New England Aquarium. He has traveled extensively doing research on diverse topics, from stranded pilot whales to tropical forests. While exploring national parks in Europe, Africa, Central America, and the United States, he developed his photography and travel-writing skills. He has also spent many hours scuba diving off the coasts of New England, Venezuela, Mexico, Belize, and the Bahamas, and in the waters of the Red Sea. He lives in Massachusetts.
