Crafts in general and scrapbooking in particular have traditionally been considered a mother's domain, but this guide is geared toward helping the entire family get involved in creating memorable photo pages. In Family Scrapbooking, the mother-and-daughter team of Lael Combe Furgeson and Stephanie Taylor show how to create eye-catching layouts featuring kids cavorting with cousins, doing art projects at Grandma's, going on family excursions, getting ready for holidays, even having a scrapbook party with Dad.

Although Mom will still most likely be the primary crafter of these pages, the fun and simple layouts, the good directions, and the beginner-friendly materials (lots of stickers, patterned papers, and punched shapes) mean that other family members can easily get involved, even without any prior crafting experience. The authors generally succeed in avoiding the overcrowded look prevalent in many books on the subject, where the photos often seem to get lost amid all the embellishments.
