He married Elizabeth Kauffman, daughter of Jacob Kauffman and Mary, in about 1812. They had nine children. He died in 1865 in Elkhart County, Indiana. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
