Synopsis
Circa 1996 – San Fernando Valley, California: Len Morgan, Valley West Police Department Homicide Captain, returns to work, following a two week furlough spent sailing his sloop out of Los Angeles on the blue Pacific, only to find his department knee-deep in the investigation of a mysterious, fatal car explosion. Len later gets word from his mother that his father, declared MIA in Korea 46 years before, may have resurfaced and sent her a huge sum of money. This leads Len to a bizarre reunion with his long lost father and two Asian half-brothers, whom, he suspects, are international criminals involved in a murderous and deceptive high-tech scheme to infiltrate and destroy our system of government, and unbelievably, a vicious plot to frame Len for murder.
About the Author
After retiring as a Superintendent from the commercial construction field in 2001, I decided to fulfill a life's ambition-- to write more detective-fiction novels. I'd had the urge to write for the entirety of my life. In high school, one of my literature teachers suggested that I consider a career in journalism. Being a skeptical type, it took me several decades, but I finally took his sage advice in part in 1999; the result was "A Scent of Suspicion," the initial full-length detective-fiction novel in the Detective Len Morgan series. Besides amateur photography and political commentary blogging, I've also written and e-published a non-fiction current affairs book, "Prodigious Political Ponderings and Prognostications" Look for these exciting sequels: "His Father's Sons", "A Passion for Revenge," and "CHAOS ...and Cops!" All are available on Createspace eStore.com & Amazon.com/books.
