A Father's Tears

The instant that a suspected drunk driver hit their only son, Tony’s car, the McColl family’s lives changed – forever. This is the story of what occurred behind the headlines of a much-publicized accident that sent a family, and a community into shock. David McColl’s book is a frank account of what it’s like to lose a part of you and what materialized afterwards. His book takes you on the family’s step-by-step journey of what happened when the media cameras arrived and then what happened after they left. Although told from a father’s perspective, “A Father’s Tears” is a guide to grieving that anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to. It tells the story of being knocked down and picking yourself back up. It’s the story of the thousands of young people who pledged Tony’s Promise. It’s the story of Tony McColl. But ultimately it’s the story of David McColl and “A Father’s Tears.”

David McColl wrote "A Father's Tears" to offer solace to families that have lost loved ones and especially to father's who have lost a child. The book reaches out to anyone who is having difficulty dealing with grief. Born in Brantford, Ontario, he grew up in Ottawa and now lives with his wife Monica and his daughter Alanna in Aylmer, Quebec. He was compelled to write the book because of the tragic death on his son Anthony.
