The brothers Philipp and Tobias grow up in the Saxon province. In summer, the air flickers over the concrete slabs, in winter the frost breaks up the roads. When parents build their own house, this seems to be the breakaway of the family into a new life. But surrounded by industrial legacies of bygone times, the fear of the loss of future perspectives, belonging, and home becomes increasingly noticeable. When refugees are to be taken in place and there are menacing protest marches in the country, the situation escalates: one of the brothers retreats into themselves, the other lets his anger run wild. The chronicle of a collapse. An exciting, cutting-edge discussion with our torn country.
