Fawn of Sertorius, Vol. 1 of 2 (Classic Reprint)

This book follows the account of Quintus Sertorius, a proscribed fugitive and the last defender of liberty in Rome's fight for dominance over the whole of the known world. The author provides a unique perspective on a figure whose legacy has been largely forgotten over time, despite their incredible life and influence. Sertorius was an exile who forged an army from the very people Rome oppressed, leading a valiant rebellion against two of Rome's most revered generals, Pompey and Metellus Pius. In a time of unprecedented civil war and unrest, Sertorius stood as a beacon of hope for those who sought not only to preserve their own liberty but to fight for the freedom of all in the face of Rome's tyrannical rule. The book rigorously examines the historical backdrop of this fascinating figure, setting Sertorius' incredible achievements against the backdrop of Rome's rise to power and the tumultuous era in which they lived. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in this period of history, and it sheds new light on one of Rome's most formidable, yet forgotten, foes.
