Fearless: The Tim Brookshaw Story

A champion jump jockey who finished second in a Grand National without stirrups; who broke his back yet overcame paralysis, not just to walk again but to ride in a race; who became a catalyst for the Injured Jockeys Fund.

"When people suffered that kind of injury in the 1950s and 60s, the approach was, 'you've broken your back, you'll never walk again'. Now you've got gyms and trainers and physios to get you motivated. Tim got himself motivated. He did things and helped himself to a degree that was unknown then. He defied all the odds and prognoses." Elain Mellor.

"Tim will always be remembered as the man who refused to give in; who never knew when he was beaten; who was an inspiration to anyone in pain or adversity." Bob Williams.

"He was a hero. He was a proper man." Sir Mark Prescott.

"They say you should never meet your heroes but I met Tim Brookshaw on my very first day as a jump jockey and ever after he only grew in my estimation ... Chris Pitt has done more than Tim's memory and the racing world a favour for this is a book that needed to be written."
