As for the choice of title there is this note printed on the page facing the title page: "In June, 1974, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Sacramento Greek Community, the Greek Government presented the City of Sacramento with a beautiful statue of Poseidon, which now graces the foyer of the Community Center. Following this presentation, the idea for assembling this cookbook, Feasts of Poseidon, was conceived".
