February's Regrets

Larry Macklin doesn't have a badge anymore. He gave it back. He has a cat, a girlfriend, and no plans.

A month after walking away from his job as an investigator for his father's sheriff's office, Larry agrees to one favor: find Shantel's missing niece. What starts as a search through dive bars and teenage gossip ends in a locked room, a young woman in a coma, and a chilling question. Has the Swamp Hacker returned?

Sixteen years ago, the killer took young women from the backroads of Adams and Leon Counties and was never caught. Now the bodies are turning up again. With the department shorthanded, Larry is pulled in alongside his sardonic partner Pete Henley and Sheriff Ted Macklin, who has never stopped hunting this monster.

Between alibi checks, autopsies, and a long list of white vans, Larry has to face what really drove him to quit, and whether he has the nerve to come back. Because the killer is losing control and they’re running out of time to stop him.

February’s Regrets is the fourth book in the addictive, fast-paced Larry Macklin Mysteries series, a small-town police procedural full of sharp dialogue and dry humor.
