Feeling Your Way: Discover Your Sense of Touch (Five Senses)

Describes how the sense of touch works and includes simple experiments to demonstrate different sensations.

Gr 3-4-A look at over a dozen ways to explore this sense. Readers learn how long it takes for a message to reach their brain, how to measure their sense of pressure, and about feelings such as pain and tickling. The experiments are simple to carry out and include little or no equipment. The illustrations include photographed heads superimposed on drawings and simple cartoons with dialogue balloons. Add this book to Cobb's Your Tongue Can Tell and Follow Your Nose (both Millbrook, 2000) for a well-rounded trio of titles on the senses.-Wendy S. Carroll, Montclair Cooperative School, NJ
