Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery (eng)

Interest in pelvic floor reconstruction has grown rapidly in recent years with increasing collaboration between urologists, gynecologists and colorectal surgeons, making this an area of interdisciplinary care. Female Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, reflecting this multi-disciplinary field, is edited by Stuart L. Stanton, Urogynaecologist at St George's Hospital Medical School, University of London, and Philippe Zimmern, leading US Urologist at the University of Texas, with contributions by internationally known and experienced clinicians.
The book covers the surgical anatomy, urinary and faecal incontinence and their treatment, prolapse surgery, fistulae and post-operative management. With a practical slant on operative techniques, this book is well illustrated, up-to-date and authoritative.

From the reviews:

This is an extremely topical book on female pelvic reconstructive surgery and is attributed to the hard work not only of the contributors but also in particular the editors Philippe Zimmern and Stuart Stanton. ...

This book is just 378 pages long and is written by a number of authors - indeed the contributors list reads like a ‚who’s who’ in North American and European female reconstructive surgery. Despite the number of authors, the book succeeds in being an easily readable, balanced and pragmatic overview of the subject, which is useful not only to the novice but also the experienced reconstructive surgeon. All of the chapters contain useful key references and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in female urology. (Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. 2003; 85(5): 370.)

This is a unique monograph, well edited (the editorial comments after each chapter are very critical and helpful) and superbly illustrated. This is simply a fantastic book of great value to gynaecologists and urologists. To achieve these unique results both urologists and gynaecologists, all experts in the field, have successfully joined forces. (European Urology Today. 2003; 14(2):3.)
