The Fiddler and the Ferret

World-famous violinist Irving Bradley is used to paying for the best in life. So when his old violin teacher is killed in a hit-and-run accident, he ignores the police and hires Ken Scott— the father he was brought up to hate — to track the killer down.

Offered a priceless Stradivarius violin in exchange for an Impressionist painting bequeathed to him by the old lady, Irving cannot resist doing the swap.

Ken, a former MI5 man, is convinced the picture is the key to the killing.

But why should it be so important to Sir Terence Savage, a friend of the Royal Family?

Was its once beautiful owner a Resistance heroine, tortured by the Gestapo, or a traitor working for the Germans?

And how does this tie in with her death fifty year later?

As Ken uncovers a haunting story of forbidden love in Nazi- occupied Paris and the brutal horror of post-Liberation vengeance, Savage is revealed as a man who will stop at nothing to protect the secret of the greatest art theft of the twentieth century.

And when Savage's sadistic minder takes the women in their life hostage, Ken knows they will die, unless he and Irving have the courage to kill first ...
