The voice of one of history’s greatest orators-Fidel Castro-is captured for posterity in a single volume.
Fidel Castro led a guerrilla movement in Cuba that overthrew the US-backed Batista dictatorship in 1959. While surviving numerous assassination attempts and outlasting eleven hostile U.S. administrations, Fidel lived to see Washington finally acknowledge in 2014 the futility of the aggressive policy adopted against Cuba for over fifty years. He died November 25, 2016, leaving instructions that no monuments, busts or statues of him should be erected and no public buildings, parks, plazas, institutions, streets or avenues should bear his name.
