[iii]-xxxii, [1]-367, [i]-vi, [1]-278, [1]-[6] pages. 4.6 x 3.5 inches. A well preserved example of this Pocket Edition, evidently issued in Canada, with Hunter, Rose & Co. [Toronto] advert leaf at rear. Numerous ownership indications, all of John Edward Hiils of the 1st Halifax Brigade Garrison Artillery. Presumably lacking at least one leaf at front as pagination would put the title page [first leaf present] as iii. One inch lacking at foot of page 363/4 as seen in photo of Bugle Sounds; fold-out of page page 255/6 of the Appendix is lacking all but its first panel. Otherwise apparently complete and in a remarkably sound original leather binding. Upper anchor of clasp present but neither the lower anchor or the clasp survive. (see also, our item # Books015761).
