This book contains information on 269 species of grasses, with a general introduction and an index to Malagasy common names in addition to Latin names. The book also provides a critical foundation to the ongoing work of assessing the current biodiversity, distribution, uses, and evolution of the island’s grass flora. 

About the Authors

Nantenaina H. Rakotomalala holds an MSc degree and is a specialist in grasses. Based as a botanist at the Madagascar office of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, she has experience in field data collection and databasing.

Fenitra H. Randrianarimanana is a passionate botanist from Madagascar, specializing in plant systematics and sustainable management. She is a junior botanist at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Madagascar. 

Rafael Felipe de Almeida holds a PhD in botany from the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana and is associate professor at Wits University. He previously worked as a research assistant at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
