About the Author:

Patty Kirk is a Writer in Residence and Associate Professor of English at John Brown University. Originally from Southern California, she has taught and/or studied in Berlin, Beijing, Boston, New Orleans, and Arkansas. She and her family live on a farm in Eastern Oklahoma.
