The first comprehensive guide to the more common intertidal flora and fauna of the Arabian Gulf. Original colour illustrated wraps 16x21cm. 192pp including 54 full-page colour and b/w plates and numerous b/w drawings in text. Near fine, inscribed by the author to an unknown recipient to the half title "Best wishes / David Jones". David Jones was Senior Lecturer in the School of Ocean Sciences at Bangor University. He drew primarily for this guide on his visit to Kuwait in 1981 as a Royal Society Visiting Professor. Prior to this, he had been Principal Scientific Officer under the Bangor-Saudi Arabia fisheries agreement, helping to build a marine laboratory on the Red Sea, and supervise research. Scarce.
