Dr. Shelagh Larkin is a licensed independent social worker who obtained her Ph.D. and MSW in social work from the University of Kentucky. She has 36 years of experience in practice and social work education. Her practice experience is in the areas of mental health, child welfare, and eating disorders. She has worked at various client system levels, including with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Dr. Larkin served as the director for field education for 25 years at Xavier University where she was responsible for all aspects of the practicum program. She has also taught individual, family, and group practice courses and is currently an assistant professor at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
