Scribners, New York, 1969. First Printing of the First US Edition. A very good edition with an unclipped dust jacket. The dj has a slight tear on the top of the spine, and a slight tear on the bottom back. The back dj has a photograph of Hemingway with his "Ernest Hemingway, Madrid, May 1937", signing. Very slight pencilled underlining from prior owner. Orange boards in excellent shape with green lettering on sspine: title, Author and Publisher. Front flypaper has what looks to be a water mark. Pages yellowed by age; jacket design by Michele Maldeau. Besides the Fifth Column, a play, the stories are "The Denunciation", "The Butterfly and the Tank", "Night Before Battle", and "Under the Ridge". Seller Inventory # 342
