Published by Sampson Low, Marston & Company in 1893. A New and Cheaper Edition. Size: 18.5 x 12.5 or 7 1/4 x 5 inches. Page number: 418. Hardcover. Teal cloth cover with black, gilt and red lettering and decoration. G Van Hare was the ultimate showman of the 1800's. He traveled to almost every European country in his fifty year career, having many odd adventures and experiences. He was best known for his partnership with Napoleon The Wizard Dog, a gigantic Newfoundland that could play cards and spell his own name. Condition: Very good. The cover is only a little worn at the corners. The spine has darkened such that it is hard to see the black image of a lions head half way down. The red colour that decorates figures on the front has worn off to some degree. The top edge has darkened but is not dusty. The pages within are clean. The binding remains tight.
