Fight Or Flight (The September Day Series) (Volume 4)

A dog trainer with special abilities. A dead body with hidden secrets. Solving the case will take more than animal instincts.

Lia Corazon pours her heart and soul into her kennel. So when a storm destroys her business, and a mysterious black German Shepherd offers inspiration, she’d do anything to get back to training dogs… even if it means making a deal with the strict grandparents who want to put an end to her lifelong search for the father she’s never known.

Determined to prove she deserves a second chance, she starts training a scrappy young Rottweiler named Karma, with the help of her mentor September Day. After the would-be police pup sniffs out a dead body, Lia teams up with a detective who could hold the missing link to her Hawaiian heritage and the mysterious bond she shares with her four-legged friends. But her special connection will be pushed to its limits when the twisted trail of clues leads to a horrific black market operation.

With innocent lives on the line, can Lia solve the mystery of her legacy before the deadly crime syndicate claims another victim?

Hey there! Thanks so much for "adopting" my THRILLERS WITH BITE suspense series. I've always loved stories that make me gasp, laugh out loud, or weep as they take me on a roller-coaster ride. But I'd never found a book or story that dealt with a "dog viewpoint" or cat characters the way it should be done (well, the way that I thought so,anyway!). And as an animal behavior consultant and author of 30+ training, behavior and care books about cats and dogs, I decided finally to write the book that I'd always wanted to read.

The result was LOST AND FOUND, and the story of a young autistic child lost in a blizzard with his service dog struck a chord with readers and reviewers, and prompted demands for "what happens next?" HIDE AND SEEK happens next, and takes place only a few weeks after the first story ends.September's tragic history hinted at in the first book comes to the forefront, and answering readers' requests, Macy-Cat has his own story line that figures much more prominently in the book. After all, I'm an equal opportunity pet lover! The 3rd book in the series SHOW AND TELL brings the story full circle with September and Shadow gaining help from the victimized children from the first book LOST AND FOUND.

Now the 4th story FIGHT OR FLIGHT fills in some more details about Shadow's adventures, and also introduces you to some new characters. I hope you'll love the new story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

And yes, it is true you can train cats and understand dog behavior. For more on that, refer to one of my nonfiction books on the subject, like ComPETability: Solving Behavior Problems in Your Multi-Dog Household and ComPETability: Solving Behavior Problems in Your Multi-Cat Household.
