Vintage Hardcover, Undated (possibly 50's) W. Foulsham & Co 250 pages. Very Good, in a Good+ DJ. Just a touch of shelf/edge wear to blue cloth boards with bright gilt spine titles - bottom corners slightly bumped. Moderate shelf/edge wear and edge chipping to original yellow DJ with black titles - now in mylar. There is minor foxing to the underside of the DJ. Inside DJ flap has price of $5.95. Book is undated. Title page has a sticker stating Distributed by Sterling Publishing, New York. No previous owner markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Only flaw is a touch of foxing to the first few and last few pages. Also some foxing to the top edge of the text block. 21 chapters and 20 B&W photographs. Interesting study of the Japanese Martial Arts mindset from the author who spent years in Japan. First published in 1912 and later printed in 1955. Ernest John ("E.J.") Harrison (22 August 1873 - 23 April 1961) was an English journalist, author and judoka. Harrison was born in Manchester, England, on 22 August 1873. He wrote many books about the practice of judo.
