Combining the traditional story lines of a crime novel with today’s modern technology, this tale of tension and unease in the workplace showcases the murder and intrigue that are standards of the genre while painting a detailed portrait of the complicated relationships between coworkers. In the German city of Sarrebruck, executive assistant Roswitha Brecher is found strangled at the distance education company I & B and the prime suspect, her boss, has gone missing without a trace. A series of small acts of sabotage contributes to the spread of apprehension among the company’s employees. It's left to two cynical characters—a football manager and a police inspector—to restore the peace, but the way they go about it is anything but peaceful.
