Uncensored creative writing. Brutal. Honest. Funny. Sexy. Heartfelt... Ms. Ribyat's stripped-down vignettes reflect today's realities in bare-bones language. These short stories illustrate the coarser times we live in and the darkness from the author's personal tragedies of the past year. Above all, there is much-appreciated humor, even when dealing with the more serious topics. She has a unique and offbeat perspective of the world and the quirky characters that live in it. Her writing impels you to move out of your comfort zone with realistic dialog and topical subjects. She is poignant and irreverent at the same time. Relationships come alive on the page, right down to each body movement, slang and scene description.
