Synopsis

This is "Synchronicity In Violence", Volume Two of Filthy Knowledge, a three-volume book series of poetry. The first volume, published with lulu.com, explores the Christian concept of Original Sin and is inspired by Biblical stories: the fall of Adam & Eve, and The Tree Of Knowledge Of Good And Evil. The second volume focuses on the concepts of violence, fate and time. As a three-volume anthology, Filthy Knowledge covers a wide range of subjects, including religion, politics, race, class, sexuality, love, desire, truth vs. deception, jealousy, hatred, war, drugs, psychology, sociology, and more. "Monkeyassassins: A Chronic Odyssey", a stand-alone volume of poetry, was released in 2013 and tackles the themes of martyrdom, addiction and obsession. The in-progress third volume of Filthy Knowledge, "Amethyst Fantasy", is planned for release in Summer 2016.

About the Author

Brian Kehinde is a 42-year-old black gay poet, novelist, illustrator, former U.S. Army journalist and Iraq War veteran. He was born in Chicago, moved to Houston in his teenage years and graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1997 after earning a Bachelor Of Arts Communications degree. He is the author of three poetry books, "Filthy Knowledge: A Poetry Anthology (1994-2011), "Monkeyassassins: A Chronic Odyssey" (2013), and "Synchronicity In Violence (2016). Soon, he will also self-publish "Amethyst Fantasy", the third and last volume of his Filthy Knowledge Poetry series, and "Skully And The Bleak-Eyed Youth", his first novel, a homoerotic / bildungsroman / dark fantasy about a secret brotherhood of male hustlers, skateboarders and gay soldiers, based on his coming-out experiences while on active duty in the U.S. Army, and inspired by the fiction of Dennis Cooper. He is currently employed by Half-Price Books and lives in Pearland, Texas.
