About the Author

Carla Eggman-Garrett is the oldest of seven Baby-Boomers. Raised on a small orange farm in Terra Bella, California, the family kept from starving by milking their cow, raising their calves and augmenting their diet with beans and tortillas for ten cents a dozen. Mormon by birth, her first husband was Catholic. To make amends, her second husband was Mormon hippie/polygamist turned rogue. Hence, her first book, "Escape from Utah." Her second book, "Miracle Walking," is about her third husband who was killed in a car wreck six days after their marriage. Ralph asked Jesus and God a favor . . . After coming back from Utah, Carla refused to go on welfare especially with five children to support. The COD state program helped her to support her children while she attended Psychiatric Technician classes. She continued her schooling and got her BA and Teaching Credential. She interviewed Charlie Manson and other famous criminals as a Psych Tech, then taught at the same prison that Robert D., Jr. was in. (No she did not teach him.)
