About the Author

Andrew Appleton was born in Glasgow, and growing up under the flight path to Glasgow Airport, became an aviation enthusiast at an early age. Andrew developed an interest in Filton Airfield after he moved to the West Country in 1994, and created a website covering its historic and modern-day activities. In his spare time he has been a volunteer with the Bristol Aero Collection, and is a committed supporter of aircraft preservation in the UK.
