- Book 5 of 5: Rene Sharp Series
Unknown to the Federation Committee, another organization had decided to use the planet as a penal colony. The bare bones shelters for the penal colony consisted solely of two bunkhouse style buildings with dirt floors. Nothing more. These building were home to one hundred eighty criminals of the worst sort. Those responsible for putting these poor excuses of humanity on the planet were unaware that the Federation of Planets had already colonized the planet with peaceful, loving people. Conflict between the colonists and the violent inmates was inevitable and bloody. After the entire mess got resolved, Rene and Michael decided it was time to bring more earthlings to the new planet. Not wanting to be separated from their families during this year long trip to Earth and back, they thought it a promising idea to bring their families along.
On their way to Earth, the starship Freedom encountered pirates, and Michael’s brave and selfless actions during the ensuing conflict made him a hero in the minds of the Freedom’s entire crew.
Once the Freedom is in Earth orbit, Michael and his daughter, Hope, visit the planet. After showing her where he used to live, Michael takes her to the coffee company he once owned. They had been there less than thirty minutes when three thugs, minions of the Throne, kidnap Hope with plans to use her to force Michael to reveal where to find Rene Sharp and Luka Armstrong believed by members of the Throne to know where their stole one hundred billion dollars plus is hidden. The Throne believes Luka, once high up in the Throne’s hierarchy, helped steal the Throne’s billions of dollars they kept in reserve. The money and bullion were kept in a private vault that Luka was one of two people responsible for keeping the reserve assets secure. The Throne blames Luka and Rene for the theft. Luka had no idea where to find the money. Rene knows.
Pete, a man working security for the Throne was one of two men holding Hope prisoner. However, Pete was led to believe they were protecting Hope. He was unaware that Hope had been kidnapped and was being used to extract information from Michael.
When Pete learns the Hope is to be killed, he helps her to escape captivity ultimately saving the child’s life. Because he helped her escape, Pete is now faced with the threat of his family being killed if he does not relinquish the child as originally planned. Now, Pete’s family, his wife and daughter, has been taken captive and their lives threatened by the Throne if he refuses to turn Hope over to them. Rene and Pheolana are determined to help free Pete’s family out of gratitude for saving Hope’s life.
Once business on Earth is completed and the starship Freedom leaves Earth orbit, on the way to the New World, the Freedom must take a detour to drop off some prisoners at a planet used for housing criminals. After succeeding in getting the prisoners placed on the planet where they will live out the rest of their lives, however long that may be, the Freedom has resumed its journey to the New World when it intercepts a distress signal. Tracking the distress signal, they come upon what appears to be a severely damaged spacecraft. Chielo, Commander Alpha of the starship Freedom, initiates a rapid rescue effort in hopes of finding survivors. It is Rene’s alertness that prevents the Freedom from a major disaster of its own.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
