The Final Guardian

Welcome to the literary world of D.M. Decker. I am a romance author who wears many hats - a dedicated mom, a Functional Medicine coach, and a writer with a passion for storytelling. As a mother of three incredible kids, I have stumbled my way through the demands of parenthood while pursuing my creative dreams. I have always had a vivid imagination and can remember crafting tales that would transport me to different worlds and offer glimpses into others' experiences.Growing up as a military brat, I had the privilege of living in diverse locations worldwide. These nomad experiences left an indelible mark on my perspective and writing style. The local library became a staple where I devoured everything from classic literature to contemporary fiction. This deep love for reading soon evolved into a desire to create my own narratives. But what makes my writing journey even more remarkable is my kids' unwavering support and enthusiasm. You see, I've always been the parent who cheers my children on, encouraging them to explore their dreams and take risks. My favorite phrases have always been, "If you don't try, how will you ever know?" and "What's the worst that could happen?"One day, my 15-year-old daughter found my first draft of "The Final Guardian." She devoured it in three days and asked where the next installment was. Her enthusiasm ignited a fire within me. I realized that I wasn't just the cheerleader for my children; they were now the cheerleaders for me. I am proud to share this creative journey with them, who serve as a constant reminder of the importance of imagination and storytelling. When not crafting stories, I can be found muddling through quality time with my family, immersing myself in the world of Functional Medicine, and attempting the art of welding a tennis racquet without leaving my leg or elbow bruised. As an avid reader, I revel in books that are pure guilty pleasures-the kind that evoke the excitement of unwrapping a candy bar, winning a tennis match, or receiving a long-awaited package. I love being immersed in worlds filled with romance, intrigue, and humor, which, of course, always leaves me wanting more.
