The kidnapping of a young Israeli boy in Sardinia begins this truly horrifying thriller about how the past--in this case the Nazis' Final Solution--is always with us. Steeped in historical research and current events, Easterman's grim story about neo-Nazis keeping old hates alive while working to take over the German and Italian governments is well written and involving. And his lead character, an unreconstructed Israeli terrorist named Yosef, rings with the sad strength of truth.
