Synopsis:

This book focuses on the way to structure a practice to ensure financial planners are concentrating on their clients' needs. A specialist in financial life planning, Diliberto challenges the notion of asset centered financial planning in favor of the client centered approach. He uses stories, personal examples, and wisdom from his career to discuss how to plan holistically, asking the questions who is your client and what are their personal goals and needs? Not focused solely on the relationship with the client, Diliberto shines a bright light on the practice itself. He examines how a firm is structured, who is part of the financial planning team, compensation, and effective and reasonable marketing for the financial planning firm.

About the Author: Roy Diliberto, CFP, is founder and Chief Executive Officer of RTD Financial Advisors, Inc., a comprehensive financial life planning firm with office in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. Active in professional and civic associations, Diliberto served as first national president of the Financial Planning Association. He was on the advisory boards of Schwab Institutional and TD Waterhouse. He also writes a bimonthly column on Financial Life Planning for Financial Advisor magazine, and is a frequent speaker at industry meetings. Diliberto has been quoted in many national and local publications, TV programs, and financial Web sites. He has been named as one of the best financial planners in America by several publications, including Money, Worth, and Medical Economics. Investment Advisor magazine identified him as "One of the 25 Most Influential People in the Financial Planning Profession," and Financial Planning magazine recently named him to the "Movers and Shakers" hall of fame. Diliberto is donating the royalties from sales of this book to the Foundation for Financial Planning.
