Mishra is a senior professor, director, and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Subir Raha Chair Professor at the Institute of Public Enterprise in Hyderabad. He sits on the editorial board of several international and national journals and has supervised doctoral research for universities in public administration, management, economics and commerce.
