Find the Vawol - Read the Rime - Learn to Read

"find the vawol" READ THE RIME, LEARN TO READ shows parents and teachers that reading is not a random sea of mysterious rules. Reading is a systematic code where groups of letters stand for speech sounds. "find the vawol" shows what reading truly is and how ambiguities and confusions are resolved within the rime portion of the word (ag in rag, age in rage). This is a how-to book with many examples of how children are able to intuit rime patterns and how parents and teachers can help them do it. With support for articulating phonemes, children can use their easy, intuitive grasp of the critical structures of reading to gain fluency and build toward sophisticated, multisyllable word reading skills.

Dr. Cherkes-Julkowski, author of numerous books and articles about children and learning, has helped many children to read and shown their parents how to teach them. Her many years of research, writing, teacher training and diagnostic work with children makes her uniquely able to help others to help children to read.
