Synopsis
Curtis R Schofield, a retired United Methodist Minister, writes from his experiences in fund raising for Christian ministries. The chapters in this book are expanded works based on personal experience in raising funds. Dr. Schofield presents lessons on ten essentials he has learned from fund raising development training with the late Robert F. Sharpe. He has verified these ten essentials in his professional ministry as a pastor, as the founding director of a Christian telephone counseling ministry, as a college president and in serving as a vice president of two major service agencies of the Church. The chapters includes real life stories to illustrate how each element is necessary for effectiveness. The professional training he received in fund raising was with the National Planned Giving Institute at the College of William and Mary. The ten essential includes necessary tools for effective fund raising.
About the Author
Dr. Curtis R Schofield, a retired United Methodist Minister, has proven his effectiveness in ministry as parent, husband, pastor, founder of organizations, college president and vice president for two major Christian organizations. Curtis and his spouse, Clara, reside in Flat Rock, Alabama. He has two sons who are successful in their own careers with one being a United Methodist pastor. Curtis received his doctors degree from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Schofield is a regular contributor to newspaper articles, writes and publishes poetry and has co-authored other books. He retains a vast amount of knowledge and experience in raising funds for local, national, and international projects.
