Finding the North Wind: Search and Rescue Dog Series

"Finding the North Wind is an exciting journey about a dog that helps us find truth in ourselves." —Richard Paul Evans, #1 New York Times bestselling author

At the edge of winter, a young Native American woman escapes from the Wyoming Women’s Minimum Security Prison weeks before being released. In the third book in the Search and Rescue Dog Series, Caleb and Boo once again find themselves in a grand wilderness adventure with Lincoln County Deputy Nate Garner chasing a fugitive across the plains of Wyoming and into the Utah wilderness. But Kwayah, the woman they call “The North Wind,” is always one step ahead.

In the high country, the Golden Retriever search dog leads pursuers in unexpected directions where they are confronted by corrupt prison guards, tribal police, and brutal weather, and helped by an ex-Marine Prison Warden and a former FBI agent. As they close in on the runner, the line between good and bad blurs, and Nate and Caleb are forced to choose between justice and duty.

Finding the North Wind is a stunning story of how a search dog, a boy, and a deputy start tracking an escaped felon and end up with a new and deep cultural connection and a chance to right a wrong.
