Today, that’s truer than ever. Across the globe, women have reached the tipping point in assuming positions of power and influence and amassing significant wealth. Women in the United States control more than $10.9 trillion in assets. That number is estimated to triple by 2030. In 2019, there were eleven self-made female billionaires worldwide. Just one year later, there were one hundred. Across countless corners of society, women are embracing a new role in which staid stereotypes and traditional roles no longer apply.

Yet, in the exclusive enclave of ultra-high net worth families, the roles of women remain hindered by longstanding conventions and complex intergenerational dynamics. These traditions, combined with lingering societal inequalities, have created a complicated path forward for women of wealth today.
